GAME vs. UNIVERSITY OF DENVER

October 7, 2022

The Regis Playday was a huge success! We beat COLORADO SCHOOL OF MINES 17-0, then moved on to play NCAA Division II RMAC opponents. We fell to FORT LEWIS COLLEGE with a score of 7-6, then junior Corinne Sage scored our lone goal against the RMAC champ contenders COLORADO MESA. Either way, our team learned a lot from these games and we had a blast in Denver last weekend.

Now it's time to move forward to our next game, a scrimmage against the University of Denver! DU has always been a great opponent both on and off the field, consistently making it to Nationals as well as being kind and respectful opponents. We can't wait to play some lacrosse against them this Sunday, October 9th! First whistle is at the Lagoon Field at 1:00 pm. Park at the Morgan Library (Lot #425), or Lot #412.

Our last scrimmage of the fall season will be on October 23rd against CU Boulder. It will also be held at the Lagoon Field at 3:00 pm!

Stay tuned for game results and possibly some photos. Click here to see our social media post about our game against DU, and to give us a follow.

COACHING SEARCH

August 9th, 2022

After our 2021-22 season, we are seeking a new co-coach for our team! Below you can find information about this coaching position (click the "down" arrow to the right to view this information).

Please reach out to csu.w.lacrosse@gmail.com with the subject line "2022-23 Coaching Inquiry" with a resume with relevant work experience if you would like to apply!

About us:

We are a 4x National Championship team looking to return to the National Tournament. CSU Women's Lacrosse has been a highly competitive, active club since 2001. We have 4 practices per week in the fall for preseason, with 6-8 scrimmages. We then increase practices to 5x a week in the spring for the regular season, with an average of 14-16 games for the regular season. We travel across the country during our season to California, Texas, Utah, Arizona, and the East Coast. The team also obtains community service hours, participates in fundraisers, and spends quality time together while traveling or team bonding! Come be part of a fun team with a great culture!

Compensation:

This is a part-time job with a base pay of $2900 for the season ($1450 for fall, $1450 for spring), and will also include gas compensation, coaching gear, and 100% of travel fees covered (flights, hotel rooms, team meals, car rentals. etc). Willing to negotiate.

Fall Season: Practices, Games, and More:

As stated above, fall practices will be Monday through Thursday. The practice schedule is as follows:

Monday: 7-9pm

Tuesday: 5-7 pm

Wednesday: 7-9 pm

Thursday: 5-7 pm

There will be approximately 6 games in the fall, and these games/scrimmages will include the annual Regis Play Day Tournament (3 games), games against CU Boulder and the University of Denver, then a scrimmage against NCAA teams like Colorado College, Fort Lewis College, or other D2 or D3 NCAA teams.

Expectations

You will be expected to create comprehensive, complex practice plans that will help college-aged lacrosse players hone their skills. Most players on our team average at least 4 years of combined club and high school lacrosse, and as such, we will need drills and exercises that reflect this skill level. We like to have fun, too, so make sure to include that in your practice plans! :D

You will also be expected to attend as many practices as possible - you will have a co-coach named Annaliese Hernandez, and as such we can be slightly flexible about practice attendance. We understand that some applicants may be Denver-based, and we can work with you accordingly to set up a reasonable commute.

Next, you will need to work with team captains and officers to manage players and, if necessary, conduct tryouts and select a roster. This will occur if we have too many players and not enough jerseys. Note that in the fall, we try to take as many players as possible. Then, in the spring, we will fill our roster with 30-35 players, and also ask the coaches to select a travel team. More information about constructing a travel team can be shared upon request.

Thanks for reading! Again, if you are interested, please send an email to csu.w.lacrosse@gmail.com with the subject line "2022-23 Coaching Inquiry" with a resume with relevant work experience. We hope you can join our Ram family!
